2015 Featured Eco Home
Beck Builders 2015 Featured Home is a custom eco-home built right on the family farm. Our clients had clear goals for this home: a robust, energy-efficient home that would provide a good base for eventual alternative energy generation. One self-described as not just being "out of the box," but instead "not having a box!" A central maple spiral staircase provides passive cooling, drawing air from the basement and main floor to the observatory. Generous windows are a central feature throughout the home. Recycled foam, precast concrete walls, and a robust wall assembly provide an energy efficient base, allowing for additional future alternative energy systems in the home such as solar and wind power. Cedar was harvested from the family farm for posts for deck and carport. The result is a beautiful, open, energy-efficient home that incorporates the magnificent mountain and farm views.
